There were also two powerful monarchies among the republics in Buddha's India - Magadha and Kosala. King Bimbisara of Magadha and King Prasenjit of Kosala were relatives and friends, both were worshipers of Lord Buddha, but Prasenjit did not have as much dedication towards him as Bimbisara already had. Yes, Prasenjit's paternal aunt Devi Sumana attained the state of Arhatva and his queen Devi Mallika had unwavering devotion towards the Lord. Due to the influence and efforts of Devi Mallika, Maharaj Prasenjit also came very close to war, religion and union respectively.
One night King Prasenjit saw sixteen terrible dreams. When he told his priest about the dreams, the priest said- 'Your Majesty, these dreams are very dangerous for you and your kingdom. To protect them, you have to perform a yagya. In those days, animals such as cows, bulls, calves, sheep, goats etc. were killed in Yagya. When Mallika came to know about his violent yajna, then she asked the king. On knowing about the dream, he asked, ' Maharaj! Didn't you go to the greatest Brahmin in the world?' The king asked - 'Who is he?' Mallika said - 'Your Majesty! There is no fear. The priest has spoken of performing the sacrifice of greed and fame.' After coming from there, Mallika got all the animals released and the public started cheering for Queen Mallika.
Sravasti residents Shresthi Anathpindik and Upasika Vishakha made Jetavanaram and Purvaram and donated them to the Sangha, in which thousands of monks used to live. When the king came to know that two thousand monks eat food every day in Anathapindika, Vishakha and other important clans, he also invited five hundred monks to donate food every day after asking God. But, due to lack of proper arrangements, the monks stopped going there after a week. King when asked, the Lord said that it happened because of lack of faith and faith.
In order to win the trust of the monks towards him, the king, in consultation with the Amatyas, proposed marriage to Shakyakumari. Inspired by their caste pride, the Shakyas fraudulently married the king to the maidservant Vasabhakhatiya. A son named Bittabh was born to him. At the age of fifteen-sixteen, he went to his maternal grandfather Kapilvastu. While returning from there, he came to know that being the son of a maidservant, his seat was being washed with milk. At that very moment he vowed that he would wash that seat with his blood when he became king. The first thing he did after becoming the king was to attack the Sakyas and killed Abal, Vriddha, Banita. While returning from there, he along with the army started resting at night on the banks of the river. Suddenly there was a flood in the river. The entire army including Bittun was swept away into the sea. God said- 'Both got the fruits of their deeds of their previous births.'
One day the only son of a Vaishya family of Shravasti died. The father went to God and told his sorrow. God said - ' Worshiper! Only sorrows are received from loved ones. The father kept telling that statement of God to other people. On knowing this, the king mocked Mallika. But when the queen confirmed the truth of God's statement by various examples, bowing down in the name of God with reverence, the king accepted - 'It seems that God sees all this through wisdom.'
One day the king sitting near God said - 'Bhante! This world is full of different types of people – high-born-low-born, rich-poor, happy-ugly, virtuous-unrighteous etc.' God said - ' Maharaj! On the basis of ethics, this whole diversity can be kept in four types. They are- Tam-Tam Parayan, Tam-Jyoti Parayan, Jyoti-Tam Parayan and Jyoti-Jyoti Parayan. By saying this, God explained them by explaining them. On the question of the king, God told that by giving charity to a person who is virtuous, great fruit is obtained.
When the king asked - 'Bhante! Who are the three harmful religions,' then God told- 'Attachment, malice and attachment are very painful and painful. The one who has restrained his body, speech and mind, he is safe, the one who does good deeds with his body, speech and mind, he loves himself.'
Once Maharaj came after three-four days in the service of God. He told that after the death of a miser, his property was being filled in the treasury. Even though Bhante was the owner of so much property, he did not even eat properly. God said - ' Maharaj! The miser neither eats himself, nor allows his family members to eat, nor ever gives charity. His wealth is like a ghost's well, whose water no man, animal, bird can drink.'
King Prasenjit nurtured Mikshuni's son and later got him married. When Sthaviri Uppalavanna was raped, at the behest of God, the king built a nunnery in the city. In this way the nuns became safe.
Once Maharaj was talking with the queen. The king asked - 'Mallika! Do you love someone more than yourself?" The queen said - 'No.' Then the queen asked the king the same question. The king also answered the same. Then both went to the Lord and narrated their experience to him. God thanked them, approving the words of both of them.
Queen Mallika died during Maharaj's lifetime. On hearing the news of his death, the king's face became pale. Seeing the king sad, God explained to him and said - ' Maharaj! No creature in the world is saved from these five things, disease, old age, death, decay and destruction. Being sad about it is your own loss. ,The king went to God while going to suppress the dacoit Angulimala. There was no place for the surprise of the king to see him in an improved form.
They said - 'How does God suppress the evil and calm the troubled?'Maharaja Prasenjit, having received bribe from the Tirthiks, went to Jetavana. Gave permission to make Tirthikaram. To stop him, the Lord sent
Anand and Agarshravak Sariputta and Mahamoggallan in turn. The king did not meet him. On knowing this, it came out of God's mouth, ' He will not get leave to die in his kingdom?
Once Kosalnaresh went to meet Shasta. Saluting his feet, he went around him and said- 'Bhante I am Prasenjit.' Showed great reverence and respect towards him.
Mallakumar Bandhul of Kushinara was the brother-in-law of Prasenjit. The king made him his commander. Seeing his hard work, later he was also made a judge. Due to this, the income of bribery judges stopped. They hatched a conspiracy that Bandhul wanted to take over the Kosala kingdom. The king believed in this. They treacherously got Bandhul and his sons killed. Later, seeing the forgiveness of the bound wife, the happiness and peace of the king was disturbed. For his peace of mind, the king made Bandhul's nephew Dirghakarayan as the commander-in-chief.
One day the king went to see God with the commander. Before going to the Lord, he handed over the five royal symbols to the commander-in-chief Dirghakarayan. The commander handed over the royal insignia to the king's son Chittabha and declared him the king. After seeing God, when the king came out, seeing a horse and a woman, he understood everything. He proceeded towards Rajgir to seek help from his nephew Ajatashatru. The gate was closed even before reaching the city. He stayed in a Dharamshala. As a result of the whole day's surprise trouble, he died there. She was the only woman to cry in his name. This speed of his was the result of his own actions.
